Help me write a fundraising plan

4 May 2020. Day 13.

13 days of delivering food for charity have raised just over 15,000 dollars for the Children's Cancer Foundation (CCF) to help improve the quality of lives of children with cancer and their families. I would like your ideas and input on what we should do next to increase donations such that we raise an additional 85,000 dollars in the next 28 days and give the CCF 100,000 dollars when the campaign ends on 1 June.

How much have we raised so far?

As of 4 May, we have just over 15,000 dollars in donations and commitments. This is from very generous donations from very kind and supportive friends and family. Thank you all.

What I have done to encourage friends and family to donate? Not much.

I have worked around 20 - 25 hours per week as a food delivery rider (2 -3 hours per day Monday to Friday and up to 8 hours on Saturday and Sunday) earning around 400 dollars per week.

What have we learnt?

Friends have liked the idea (‘good news' in a dark time) and have been motivated to support (average donations are ~$250 per person).

Around half of donors have donated a fixed amount. The other half have elected to donate as a % of how much I earn as a food delivery rider.

The media is interested in the story. I have spoken to a local newspaper and international news media company and and both have responded positively. Features on our campaign will be run by the media this week.

What next?

I would like to approach other groups (companies, organisations, broader community, etc.) and ask them to support the campaign to help us raise 100,000 for the CCF to help improve the quality of lives of children with cancer and their families.

Here is a summary of the ideas I have to increase donations from 15,000 to 100,000 in the next 28 days.

But, I don't have time to do all of them.

Your input

Having read the above, what initiatives and activities do you think I should focus on to raise 100,000 for the CCF to help improve the quality of lives of children with cancer and their families? Some of the specific questions I would like you to help me answer are:

  1. How much can each of the aforementioned fundraising ideas and initiatives be expected to generate?

  2. How much time and effort is required to implement each fundraising idea / initiative?

  3. For which fundraising initiatives should I prioritize my limited time?

  4. What specific tactics to use for each fundraising idea / initiative?

  5. What other ideas do you have?

I would love to hear from you. Any input, ideas or support that can help us increase donations to the CCF to help improve the lives of children with cancer and their families would be hugely significant and massively appreciated.

Would you like to help on any of these or other initiatives?

Please reply directly to me or leave a comment.
